It\u2019s known as <\/span>Porta Maddalena<\/span><\/b> too as the proximity with the church with the same name, Porta Mazzini, ex Porta Colonna, was so nominated in honor of <\/span>Antonio Branciforti Colonna<\/span><\/b>, President of the Legation of Urbino at the time of its construction.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Its realization, between 1758 and 1760, was a part of the union of the works which saw the city, from the second half of eighteenth century, included in a project of a<\/span> urban restauration<\/span><\/b>. Porta Colonna was dangerously damaged by the <\/span>earthquake<\/span><\/b> of the 1930 in which fell the upper part formed by a roof-terrace and three arcades with a clock over.
